Top 5 Self-Help Must Reads

Hello, Daisies!


I love to read, I always have! Lately though (past year) my topic of interest has been self-help books. So I decided why not share it with you!


This week I'm going to talk about my top 5 self-help books. Some are poems, but sometimes a few sentences can give you the confidence you need or even something you can connect to. Whether you're in your bed or out in the sun, these books are perfect to enjoy anywhere you are!



#1 "Girl Wash Your Face" by Rachel Hollis


Rachel Hollis owns The Hollis Company and has written 2 books. She is all about helping people with themselves as well as with their business. "Girl Wash Your Face" is her first book where she lists the 21 reasons, well 21 lies we tell ourselves that are preventing us from achieving our goals. These lies we've told ourselves so much we just come to know them as truths. In this book, she gives examples from her life and helps you to stop telling yourself these lies by giving tips so that you can start living your life to its fullest.

#2 "Live" by Sadie Robertson


Sadie Robertson is best known for being on the AETV reality show Duck Dynasty, where they focused on family and faith (yes, this book is a little religious). Sadie has made it her life's purpose to help others realize they are bound for greatness in whatever they do. Owner of Live Original, Sadie utilizes her presence to her advantage in her mission to help those who need it.


"Live" is about putting your faith in god and utilizing the choices he has given us so that we can truly live our life to it's fullest. By using photography and her powerful words she pulls you in, captivating you, making you want to read more. She uses examples from her life to show the struggles that we all face throughout our life and gives you the tools you need to be able to truly LIVE.

#3 "You are a Badass: How to stop doubting your greatness and start living an awesome life" by Jen Sincero


Jen Sincero is a success coach and motivational speaker who has helped many people. If you haven't heard about this book, you must be living under a rock, because this is a very popular NYTimes Best Seller. "You are a Badass" is an inspiring book that gives you easy tasks to do daily, so, you can stay motivated every day and be able to live your life to its truest potential. Jen Sincero wants to help you stop doubting yourself, to stop telling yourself you can't do something, or don't have the time to.

#4 "Milk and Honey" by Rupi Kaur


Rupi Kaur wrote this poem book that took the world by storm. Not only does her poems speak to anyone who reads it, but the illustrations that follow are beautiful and allow you to connect with the poem even more. "Milk and Honey" is divided into 4 parts dealing with love, loss, abuse, and feminity, in any section, you can find at least one poem that connects with you. I have read this book many times and each time I can never put it down.

#5 "Love Her Wild" by Atticus


Atticus has brought together his top poems for this book, where he writes about the raw and relatable stuff in today's world. Combining poetry with photography this book is intriguing and visually appealing. The photographs are real and raw and make the poems that much stronger. If you love poems and photography this is a must-read!
