Hi Daisies!
It was September 16th, yesterday which means it was national Playdough Day so why not share a recipe so you can make some right at home. This is a quick blog post, but I wanted to share it with you since it will be fun to make with your kids. The good thing about his playdough is that you know what you put in it and if kids eat some (hopefully they don't) but if they do you don't have to worry as much.
Ingredients
- 2 cups all purpose flour
- 3/4 cup salt
- 4 tsp cream of tartar
- 2 cups lukewarm water
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil or coconut oil
optional: food coloring or scents
Directions
01
In a large pot stir together the flour, salt, and the cream of tartar.
02
Once stirred add in the water and oil. If you are only doing one color add that in now if doing multiple wait.
03
Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until thick and forms a ball
04
Remove from the heat and place on wax paper or in a bowl
05
If Separating, do so now, knead each dough
06
Finally, add in colors and scents and knead until completely mixed
I hope you enjoyed this recipe, I know it was a quick blog but share your playdoughs to our facebook page!
xoxo Backwoods Daisy
