DIY Beauty Products

Hi, Daisies!

I am so excited to share this week's post with you. I love skincare, and believe that no matter what it should be a part of your everyday routine! Sometimes it can be hard to go out and buy $50 products to help your skin when you can make it at home (and also know exactly what's in it).

I found some products that I use every day or once a week that I believe is perfect for you to make and add to your everyday routine.

Hair Mask

First off I have a Hair mask, and you only need 3 ingredients! Hair masks are used to help nourish and moisturize your hair, leaving it healthy and clean. If you have dry, damaged, frizzy, or are just looking for a way to oomph your hair, hair masks are the perfect way to go.

Ingredients

- 1/4 cup Coconut Oil

- 1/2 Advocado

- 1/2 Avocado

Instructions

  1. Heat up coconut oil in a bowl for 15 seconds

  2. Mix in the avocado and egg yolk and stir

To use

Place in dry hair before your shower and cover with a cap or bag and let it sit for 15-20 minutes. After the time is up you can jump in the shower, shampoo, and condition as normal.

Face Mist

Up next I have a face mist (one of my favorite items I use 3 times or more a day), and this one is a Cooling Mint Face Mist. Face Mists fight dryness, it is used to brighten skin that's dull, and it revitalizes tired skin. I love to spray it on after I use serum, and moisturize because your skin feels fresh and awake.

Ingredients

- 8-10 mint leaves

- 1 tbsp aloe gel

- 1 lemon

- 1 cup rosewater

- Spray bottle

Directions

  1. Blend the leaves and aloe together

  2. Using a fine mesh strainer, sieve out the juice of blended leaves

  3. Using a fine-mesh strainer, sieve out the juice of blended leaves

  4. Add in the lemon juice and rose water

  5. Place the liquid in the spray bottle

How to use

Spray this mist on before bed or your make up. Spray over moisturizers or serum, or just use by itself. You should ensure your face is washed off and clean before using.

Lip Scrub

Up next we have lip scrubs, which are used, like chapstick, for dry and chapped lips. Lip scrubs help to remove the dead skin from your lips, while also plumping them a little as while you use the scrub you are stimulating blood flow. I have two recipes that I would like to share with you!

Sugar Cookie Lip Scrub

Ingredients

- 1 tbsp organic cane sugar

- 1/3 tsp unrefined Coconut oil

- 1/4 tsp sweet almond oil

- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract

- 1/8 tsp raw honey

Directions

  1. Combine all the ingredients and mash them together into a paste

  2. Store in a container with a cover

Chocolate Mint Lip Scrub

Ingredients

- 1 cup granulated sugar

- 1 cup brown sugar

- 1/4 cup coconut oil

- 1/4 cup almond oil

- 3 tbsp cocoa powder

- 4 drops of peppermint essential oil

Directions

  1. Mix all ingredients together into a paste besides essential oil

  2. Add the essential oil

  3. Place in a container with a cover

How to use

Clean off lips, and place scrub on lips. Using a finger or just rubbing lips together move the product around for 20 seconds. My favorite method is using a toothbrush to scrub it around to really stimulate blood flow and remove dead skin. Remove with wet cloth and place chapstick on lips.

Face Masks

Like the lip scrubs, I have two facemasks that I want to share with you. There are many facemask out there, ones that wash off or peel off, or even ones that just soak into your skin. Each mask is used to help with a different problematic area of your skin to leave it looking healthy.

Coffee Mud Mask

Coffee face masks are used to reduce dark circles and stop puffy eyes by shrinking the blood vessels. The antioxidants in coffee help to restore the healthy skin around the eyes leaving your skin looking fresh.

Ingredients

- 2 tsp cosmetic grade clay

- 1 tsp ground coffee

- 1-1.5 tsp apple cider vinegar

- 2-3 drops of tea tree oil

Directions

  1. mix all ingredients together, while slowly adding the apple cider vinegar

How to use

Apply to clean, dry skin in a circular motion. Leave on for 15-60 min, then rinse off with warm water. You can do this up to three times a week.

Detox Face Mask

Detox face masks are used to draw out any impurities that live deep in your pores. It is used to help stimulate your blood circulation, which promotes the formation of Collagen. Collagen is a structural protein that is what makes skin look younger.

Ingredients

- 2 tbsp Bentonite Clay

- 1 tsp virgin coconut oil

- 1/3 tbsp raw honey

- 1/2 Lemon Juice

Directions

  1. Mix all ingredients together

  2. Leave it to sit for 10 minuets

How to use

Apply this mask to clean, dry skin and let it sit for 15-20min. Remove with warm water in circular motions to exfoliate the skin. You are able to use this mask 2-3 times a week.

Skin care is something that everyone should add to their daily morning and night routines. This way your skin will stay heatly, clean and leave you feeling more awake and better about yourself. You'll be able to feel pampered and happy that you know what your putting on your face!
